Located in Hanover, Maryland, The FTK Group, Inc. (formerly known as E-Structors) was founded in 2003 as a pioneer in the electronics recycling industry. Founders Mike and Julie Keough were determined to establish a responsible resource for reducing the environmental burden and security risks normally associated with e-cycling and document destruction.

Shortly after starting their business, they became one of three facilities in the country to independently engineer a unique electronics shredding system that could mechanically break down items. This has provided the company with the ability to offer clients the security of physical destruction while allowing FTK Group to generate a higher quality of processed material. As times change and the material streams become more complex, FTK Group has continued to update its service programs to service the enitre universe of clients. No matter the size, FTK Group has a solution for you!

The FTK Group, Inc. became the first certified electronics recycling facility in the Mid-Atlantic. These certifications provided a unique combination of services that made them the preferred electronics recycler and document destruction company for medical and financial institutions, businesses, and government agencies in the surrounding area.

FTK Groups’ mission is to eliminate the two major threats concerning the disposal of computers, electronics, and documents:

  • 1. Information Security
    2. Environmental Compliance

Social Responsibility

Since its founding in 2003, The FTK Group has been committed to giving back to the community. In addition to the elimination of millions of lbs. of electronics from landfills, they also support programs that benefit their own employees and members of the local community.

For several years The FTK Group has been involved with many local organizations, donating working and refurbished items. The Children’s Home in Catonsville is one organization that has received computers, televisions, and game systems donations from The FTK Group.

The FTK Group has also strived to employ individuals with disabilities in their facility. Working alongside Humanim and the Arc of Howard County, about 15% of the The FTK Group work force has a disability.

A program was also established with the Our Daily Bread Employment Center in Baltimore to help provide stable jobs to people who are in need of assistance. This program has helped to place over 35 different people within The FTK Group workforce.

The FTK Group social responsibility has earned them many recognitions. Listed below are some of those awards:
